To the Editor: What’s the difference between a gaggle of people and a democracy? I am anxious to find out! The State of the Union as it is now is a disorganized, uninformed, divided mess that many people have given up on, but only We the People can heal our democracy!

The Nottingham Community Church is holding a People and Planet Healing Summit on Saturday, October 14, 9 a.m. to noon to help people get involved, informed, and organized to work together. We can address any issue of concern and the more folks who help the more we can accomplish!

We all know by now that burning fossil fuels is very bad for our health and the health of the environment, contributing to global warming that causes climate change which is deadly and costly. There are many actions that we can take locally that will have global benefits, such as community-based renewable energy and promoting energy conservation. There is much we can do together!

We can work on affordable housing, health care issues, property taxes, human rights, and other issues to influence decisions from our towns to the State and federal levels – that’s real democracy!

For more information contact the NH Community Rights Network ([email protected]). There are citizen action groups to join with and we need the silent majority to become active citizens. We cannot heal our democracy without YOU!!
